After pulling the Imperial Stout out of the barrel, I’ve been looking for something else to put in. When a friend of ours brought back some Vanilla beans from Tahiti, I figured why not use the two?
While on vacation this summer, I purchased 16oz of Mapuche hops from Hace Cerveza, a homebrew store in Bariloche Argentina. Why Mapuche? Because it was something I had never heard of.
In this, the 4th iteration of our Hoppy Red ale, we’re continuing to work on the recipe originally based off of a clone of Keegan Ale’s Hurricane Kitty. This brew is being made for our neighborhood brewfest, Oaktoberfest in the Dimond. Read more
I made this beer in order to use up some hops we had lying around from other beers. While it has the dubious honor of being the second recipe I made up from scratch, the goal was just to make something drinkable and in an easy English style. In addition, I threw this together just before I left on vacation, so I could control the primary fermentation and just leave it alone for the secondary. Read more
When the homebrew club announced the style of the quarter competition was a session IPA, I figured this was something we could do. After looking around for an interesting recipe, I landed on the Stone Session Collaboration. With a $35 cost for hops alone, This should be a pretty good beer. Read more
After using Chinook in a stout and really liking the aroma, I figured I’d make a single-hop IPA to see what this hop in particular could do. We found a recipe on HomeBrewTalk, and came up with this. Read more
We’ve brewed variations on the Otter Creek Stovepipe Porter clone from Beer Captured a few times. For this iteration, we’re using a Blue Corn Whiskey Barrel from Balcones!
