Simple Cascade IPA

Another IPA with the East coast hops

Brewer’s Notes

I did not take too many notes when brewing this beer. OG tested low, 1.050. Mash ran long due to sparge heating issues. Good color, large amount of solids, but they fall out quickly. Well balanced, grassy w/ heavy caramel malts.

OG: 1.050 @ 78F, target 1.066
FG: 1.030 @ 68F, target 1.016

Chloramine smell? Does not have the hop aroma we wanted. Think the dry hops stayed on top and dry. Overly bitter, dank, resiny. A little grapefruit aroma is coming out. Beer finished clean with hop aftertaste, no lingering malts. In general was disappointed with this beer, expected it to be more. Next will be a lighter recipe.
